About Us
The club is situated in the heart of Radford Semele village
located to the south east of Leamington Spa.
Radford village was named after a Norman family from Semilly,
who were lords of the manor until the reign of King Henry
1. The village was mentioned in the doomsday book and historic
buildings include the Jacobean Radford Hall and the Norman
St. Nicholas's Church.
History
In 1963 the Village Hall Planning Committee was formed, chaired
by the Vicar Leslie Blont. Following many scemes and meetings
a public meeting was held in November 1964 to discuss the
final use of the public buildings being proposed. At this
meeting it was decided, that in addition to the Community
Hall provision for a liscenced premises should also be made.
Following a few further years of discussion the final plan
was approved on December 29th 1967. Building commenced on
18th January 1968. May 1969 saw the official opening of the
Sports and Social Club, which still provides a focal point
for village comunity life.
